real digital stereoscopic photography

Welcome to my website. I created this site to share some of my real digital stereoscopic photographs and to provide information about this type of photography for those who may be interested. There are also links to online resources regarding real digital stereoscopic photography.

Real stereoscopic photography is the production of the illusion of depth to the viewer by the presentation of slightly different photographs to each eye. These two independently captured photographs are commonly referred to as a stereogram and normally have a deviation close to what both eyes naturally receive in binocular vision.

Anatomically, there are 3 levels of binocular vision required to view real digital stereoscopic photographs:

Simultaneous perception + Fusion (binocular 'single' vision) + Stereopsis (the perception of depth)

There are alternative methods to create stereograms that use artificial intelligence (ai) to add aesthetic depth to a single photograph and in so doing, generate new slightly different left and right computer-generated images. The illusion of depth in these images is the end product of a non-photographic generative process and is artificial.
